As I've told you before. . my two hobbies are movies and golf. Since there hasn't been any movies released of late that I've felt a compelling urge to see. . .let me talk a little golf with you.
Recently I played a relatively new course in East Canton, Ohio called The Quarry. It's appropriately named because it was built on land that used to be a quarry. As a matter of fact, there are several areas of the golf course where the owners left the gigantic drills and machinery which give it a landmark effect. If I didn't know any better. . .I would think I was playing golf in the state of Colorado. If you haven't ever played golf in Colorado, the courses there are hilly. . .naturally because of the mountains. . and there are fascinating rock formations everywhere. The designers of The Quarry amazingly captured this effect in East Canton. Usually, a golf course has one or two signature holes. I must tell you. . .I love every one of the 18 holes at The Quarry. It's a challenging test. . especially the further back you play it. . but it's fair. There's not a par 4 or 5 that you can't feel safe using your driver. . however. . .if you are wild off the tee. . naturally you will get into serious trouble. Many of the approach shots require astute accuracy. The approach shots are less forgiving if you are off line, than your drives if you're a bit off. The greens are true and very undulated. Lastly. . the 18th hole is a par 4 around a big lake and if they put the pin placement at the furthest tip by the water. . which is where it was located when I played it. . .it makes for the most incredibly challenging approach if you go for the pin! The other thing that stands out to me about the 18th hole is the Granite Grill is elevated just above the green with indoor and outdoor dining where you can see the approach shots to the 18th. It's a great layout! I highly recommend it! Tee times are required 2 weeks in advance. If you've played it. . or intend to. . .respond here on my blog. . I'd like to hear what you think about it.
In the Spring, Summer and Fall. . I try to play at least once a week. I have an outing coming up at StoneWater which is owned by STO's Jimmy Hanlon. . Host of The Golf Zone on Sunday nights from 9:00-10:00 p.m. and Co-Host of Tee It Up Ohio with Mike Cairns. StoneWater is another course that is unique to northeastern Ohio. It very much resembles a golf course in The Carolinas. I'm taking a few days off around Memorial Day Weekend. My wife, Jackie and I are going to a resort near Harrisonburg, Va. It features 36 holes including a Championship Course and what they call an "Executive" Course with 9 par-3's, 2 par 5's, and rest. . 4's. They're both built in the mountains. . so I am really looking forward. . to bringing both to it's knees! (HA! HA!)
I'm actually playing tee to green quite well. . here in the early going of the season. My chipping is good too. . .however. . my putting. . . . .well that's all the time for this entry. I'm heading out to get a putting lesson from Jimmy Hanlin! Enough Said. . .!
Until next time. . .Love Ya' Cleveland!!!

Bruce,
Win or lose, today's game at Wrigley shows just how NL rules make for a better game. I really enjoyed watching both managers make the chess moved required during the game. Plus, NL rules place value on a pitcher who can hit! Dump the DH

would we have enough cap space to sign andy and pick up boozer? If not, I think we should sign boozer and pair him with booby and go get bosh this season... then sign andy for around 8mil if possible, you can always draft someone that can shoot.

First Bruce its nice to see you back and happy aniversery. Bruce I agree that the Indians could still pull themselves out of the basement. Also we need to trade for more pitching.

Bruce if you see Mike Trivisonno tell him to lay off Lebron James about that darn Yankees hat already. If talk to Leborn tell him John said thanks for a great season and I will be backing him and the Cavs forever.

Are wew a Carlos Boozer away from already having a NBA Championship... or 2 or maybe playing for a third? Just curious I,ve never heard it discussed.

I'd like to see the Cavs look at adding 1 or 2 of the following players. Rasheed, Camby, Shaq, McDyess, Zach Randolph, Marion, Kidd, Ariza, J. Richardson, and Artest. Anyone one of them could bring either size, shot blocking, or a low post presense

My husband and I have been Indians fans for 30 years and now we just can't hardly stand to watch... Could you please advise us how to get a email to someone at the management level to have our wish to have Eric Wedge removed as part of the team.
Up until now movie fans have formed strong opinions based on the New York Film Critics, the LA Film Critics, the National Board of Review, the SAG Awards, The Directors Guild Awards, and the Golen Globe Award Winners. Now...we have come to the moment of truth!
