The No-Brainer Choice
June 25, 2009
Let’s say the Indians do eventually fire manager Eric Wedge (and Junkyard isn‘t entirely sold that they should).
There should no argument - no debate - about who SHOULD be their next manager.
He’s won 882 games as a major league manager, received two AL Manager of the Year awards and had playoff teams in both the AL and NL.
He has a proven ability to handle the media heat – with past experience as a New York Yankees manager and current work as an ESPN analyst.
He’s got a proven ability to teach younger players how to play the game.
He’s got a well-deserved rep as a no-nonsense guy.
And, actually, the Indians are already very familiar with him.
The choice is clear. In fact, it should be a no-brainer.
The next Indians manager should be…..Buck Showalter.
